When effecting importation and clearance of non-EU goods, the freight operator needs to maximise the
efficiency of their customs clearance operatives. Unlike many of our competitors’ systems, ForwardOffice
includes an integrated customs clearance capability, which removes the need for the inefficient
double-keying of data.
The ForwardOffice UK Import Customs Procedures module provides users with the means to prepare and submit
all “home-use” Customs Entries, with the minimum amount of data entry. The module is fully integrated with
the main Import Operations modules. When preparing Entries, as much information as possible is pulled
forward from a variety of data sources, in order to both minimise the amount of operator input and
maximise accuracy.
All standard customs documents can be produced on matrix or laser printers. Utilising the optional
CSP-Connect module, Entries can be submitted electronically via the relevant CSP to HMC&E’s CHIEF system.
By enabling Import Customs Entries to be prepared quickly and accurately, this module substantially
boosts productivity and helps to de-skill the task of producing customs documentation. When integrated
with the CSP-Connect interface, it can substantially speed up Entry acceptance and final clearance by
HMC&E.
